In 2013, MHAW sponsored a nurse from Finland, Mia Kurtii, to introduce their successful therapeutic approach to healing psychosis – ‘Open Dialogue’ – and welcomed her again in 2014; in 2015 we hosted Professor Jaakko Seikkula.
In 2012, a Joint Anniversary Tea Party provided a joyful celebration of MHAW’s 20th & Self-Help Nottingham’s 30th anniversaries.
Nominated by the public, MHA Chair Rosemary Renouf was one of 100 ‘Women of Substance’ invited to a civic reception at Nottingham’s Council House to mark the centenary of International Women’s Day in March 2011.
Nottingham MHA Weeks Project was awarded Notts Healthcare NHS Trust OSCARS award 2005 (Outstanding Service Contribution and Recognition Scheme) for ‘Proving Partnerships Work.’
Joanna Kowalski, Nottingham Evening Post reporter, became National MIND Journalist of the Year – in competition with national media – for her 6 articles on ‘A Lifetime of Mental Health’ during MHA Weeks October 2004.
In 2002, MHA Chair Rosemary Renouf was awarded the MBE for ‘services to mental health services and their users in Nottingham’ in the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Honours.
