Mental health problems can affect us all.
Mental Health Awareness Weeks (MHAW) was started in Nottingham in 1992, with the aim of reducing stigma and promoting greater understanding. Thanks to the enthusiastic support of many individuals and organisations, it has grown from one week to two and has become part of the local calendar. The 2020 MHAW programme is posted here, and is available as pdf to download here – please forward to your contacts, and print out to publicise as widely as possible! (And keep an eye on the website for late events which couldn’t be included in the pdf).
Due to the continuing changes and impact on our everyday life, we have decided to reduce MHAW to a week just for this year. Please stay safe and look out each other, and I hope to see you at some point during the week! Keep in touch!
In Memory of Rosemary
In memory of Rosemary Renouf, whose commitment, dedication and compassion ensured that Nottingham’s MHAW’s continued to flourish throughout the last 25 years. We have lost a wonderful friend who was a strong advocate for the power of community and togetherness.
MHAW at 20
To capture the spirit of MHAW and to mark our 20th anniversary, we made the short film below – please take a look.
