What is the important place of Allyship? \nWith-you Consultancy\, a national training provider specialising in peer-based approaches with emphasis on equalities\, have created an Allyship Network as an intentional space. Hosted by With-you Associates Gee Collins and Sharif Mussa\, the Allyship Network is designed to bring together diverse perspectives\, with a focus on intersectionality\, which can feel absent in workplace environments. \nOur network welcomes anyone interested in allyship to come together. This space compliments other closed groups that you may already have in your workplace\, that focus on a particular characteristic or identity. By providing a parallel space we hope to foster collaboration across groups. \nDo you work in Peer Support or another profession around the mental health care sector\, either in the NHS\, for the third sector\, or in a grassroots organisation? \nDoes the idea of an open\, flexible\, and adaptable space where a collective of people work collaboratively and authentically to find support for and solutions to real world experiences sound like a valuable place to be? \nWould you like to find a “braver space” which encourages open discussions\, community of practice\, and the sharing of experiences to build confidence and skills in a challenging world? \nIf you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions\, then please join our growing Allyship Network next meeting on Monday 27th October\, 6.00 – 7.30pm. The event is part of Nottingham’s Mental Health Awareness Weeks and we will bring together organisations\, community members\, and local groups to celebrate and strengthen mental health in our city. \nThe day will take form of an open day\, with stalls and activities run by different mental health-focussed organisations. Our hope is that the community will have the chance to connect with services they may not usually have direct access to. It will also be a great opportunity for networking between organisations.
